So I was all geared up to go to work this morning, get to Brigades to drop off our son to find out they are closed today & tomorrow for pre-school start prep cleaning & training…so text my boss tell her that I need to stay home because hubby had two interviews today…she took that well..

So the day is going along just fine until she sends me a meeting request for a conference call at 4, I call in and the Regional HR Director is on the phone, now  you know that’s never good – yeah turns out they are moving my position to our Tampa, FL location.  IF, and that’s a huge IF I want to I can re-apply for the job and maybe move to Tampa…yeah I don’t see that happening.  I was also informed that there’s no true timeline right now – they have to post the position, interview and hire someone, so they don’t know when this will happen…THAT doesn’t sit well with me as I do NOT do well with unknowns.  They told me that I’ll get a severance package of 6-Weeks pay + 3 Months COBRA insurance (which we won’t take the insurance its always way pricier than reasonable) BUT BUT BUT they want me to help with the transition and train my replacement…um WHAT??!?  Ugh…so many emotions right now…

My biggest thing right now is Anger, I am just pissed

Second to that is Worry, I am thoroughly concerned how we’re going to get through each day and what’s going to happen financially

Third is resentment, my co-workers in our office will retain their positions – none of them truly are struggling financially – and yet we’re floating on financial fumes…

I really don’t want to move to Tampa – I know the job market is much better than Wilmington – but the very idea of living in Florida does nothing for me (sorry to those who live there)…ugh…and if we do end up leaving Wilmington we’ll end up back in Maryland and THAT truly does nothing for me…ugh

I am not sure what’s going to happen now…still trying to figure it all out

On the upswing my husband did get Unemployment Benefits – he’s yet to tell me how much per week he’s getting – so with that and our minimal Food Stamps we’re ok…just ok…

So that’s where we are right now…

Ugh Ugh Ugh…

We do this time and time and time again – we overextend ourselves and we get ourselves into situations financially that we just can’t overcome…

I’ve done the math with the payments and financials for the new van and I must say I am less than pleased with where we’re at and where we’re going to be.

In order for us to break even every month one or both of us is going to have to bust out some major overtime…I know that once the final Oster (hubby’s grooming tools paid on a 6-Month payment plan) payment is made then we’ll be better off.  What’s worrying me more than anything right now is that with everything surrounding the wreck & buying our new car has hindered our ability to make the final payment on our trial plan – here’s how it all breaks down:

Rental Car #1 = $98.83

Rental Car #2 = $675.52

Deductible/Repairs = $390.00

Down Payment on New Van = $500.00

Sum total paid out in the last month for vehicle stuff: $1,661.35 – OUCH

I have right now $860.14 due to CitiMortgage on Tuesday 01/27 and IF we want to, oh I don’t know, EAT this week and feed our furbabies + put gas in the van I can set aside all of $250.00 on this week’s paychecks…ugh…

I went to balance the checkbook this morning and discovered we were hit with overdraft fees because of piss poor financial planning on our part and hoping the rental #2 wouldn’t draft until today (it drafted on Wed) therefore causing my payment to Brigades ($40.00), the DMV ($10.00) for Jimmy’s new ID + the down payment on the van ($500.00) to cash out and overdraft our account to the tune of $105.00 (3 Fees @ $35.00/ea).  I’m not sure how I am going to pay this payment to Citi + everything else I have to pay out on next week’s paycheck – BUT OH wait Citi wants their payment on Tuesday the 27th and I am coming up $610.14 SHORT.

I can’t even schedule the payment to be delayed until the 30th (Friday) because Citi wants to ensure their funds are drafted & applied before the end of the month…so I can’t even put it on next week’s pay (Pay Date: 01.30.15) – so we’re basically SCREWED! Anyone want to generate a miracle here????

I QUIT!!!!  

It’s another week where it seems like all the funds come in and immediately go back out again – we have a lot of auto-drafts this week which have eaten into all of our funds to carry over into next week…don’t like this one bit…but we have to adapt and move forward.  I’ve paid the 2nd part of the car payment and we’re two weeks ahead on that one, which makes me very happy, but at the same time we’re going to be behind again on the mortgage – sincerly hope Citi gets their sh*t together soon.  The last email I got from them on Wednesday said it would be six (6) days until a final decision, which puts us at about Tuesday next week.  Our counselor called us the next day and when Jimmy went to call him back “conveniently” he wasn’t available…so he asked for his manager and sat on hold for almost a half an hour until he had to leave for work, going to try calling again tomorrow…this is has been the most frustrating process.  UGH! Seriously hoping we can hold onto things this go round and keep our payments on time…once this is done I swear we’re going car shopping so I can get out from under the car.

Speaking of, it’s decided more repairs are needed – now my brakes are squealing sometimes (yup roters – $$$) and they grind like metal on metal sometimes when I apply the brakes (roters again = $$$)…I sincerly don’t want to put funds into the car for repairs, we have the money I just really would prefer to get something that is slightly newer and doesn’t need any repairs almost immediately.

We over did it last week that’s for sure…Father’s day was last Sunday and while Jimmy kept it simple we still spent a small amount on drinks/snacks while cruising Mayfaire, but then another trip to the Dr’s cost me another $20.00 – we have a Medical Savings account we could use to pay these co-pays and for prescriptions – I believe it’s time to check on that account balance and see how much we have available – might help offset some of the expenses we have coming.  I have two appointments and a prescription to pick up – he has I am sure follow-up appointments to check his INR’s and more prescriptions, so yeah that’s on my ‘to do’ list.
